Dear Parents,

 I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Loren, but the students know me as Teacher Uncle. I studied Anthropology at the University of Texas. My interest in foreign cultures and customs attracted me to this part of the world. I arrived in Taiwan in April of 2002. This island is filled with wonderful people, beautiful scenery, delicious cuisine, and interesting traditions. I am very happy to call Taiwan my home. I am happily married to an amazing Taiwanese woman and we are proud parents of a lovely teenage daughter.

 I have been teaching English since I arrived in this country. My range of experience spans from kindergarten to junior high school. I have truly enjoyed my career as an educator. I find it gratifying when my students learn new skills and gain the confidence to improve their ESL abilities.
